LNP COMMIT $200,000 TO MA OLYMPIC FOOTBALL CLUB
Local football players of Annandale and surrounds will soon be able to escape the heat and enjoy playing at night, thanks to a $200,000 funding commitment from an elected LNP Government for lighting upgrades at MA Olympic Soccer Club.
Federal Member for Dawson, Andrew Willcox, said the new lights will help ensure players can train and compete in safer and more comfortable conditions.
“Sport brings families and communities together, and this upgrade will mean more opportunities for kids and adults alike to enjoy the game they love,” said Mr Willcox.
“This investment, to be a delivered under a Liberal National Government, will provide much-needed infrastructure to support local families and young athletes.
“The lighting upgrade will ensure the club can expand training and competition schedules, helping more players take part in the game while avoiding the extreme heat of the day. By installing new lighting, we’re not only improving player safety but also making it easier for families to participate in local sport.
“This investment is about supporting grassroots sport, encouraging kids to stay active, and making sure families have access to top-quality facilities.”
The MA Olympic Football Club is home to players of all ages and skill levels, fostering a love for the game while promoting teamwork, fitness, and community spirit.
President James Wallace said, "We are incredibly grateful to receive the support of Andrew and his team to help our club. The funding will be used to upgrade our field lighting which will enable the club to further utilise our facilities.
“This includes being able to host additional high quality senior games at the club grounds across both our playing fields and being able to allow some of our junior teams with the ability to train at night.
“Andrew's support is much appreciated within our club and this will allow us to further grow and develop the game of football in the Northern region."
