THE COALITION’S PLAN TO HELP THOSE SUFFERING FROM MENTAL HEALTH ISSUES

Regional and Australia is enduring an ongoing silent epidemic as the country faces a devastating mental health crisis, all thanks to poor leadership by the Prime Minister.

The Federal Government cut the Better Access initiative, ripping away access to Medicaresubsidised mental health support from more than 240,000 vulnerable Australians.

The decision resulted in patients having sessions slashed with a psychologist from 20 down to just 10 leaving patients with uncertainty and more stress.

“The Albanese government has turned their back on those who desperately need all the professional care and support they can get.”

“It’s clear the Prime Minister does not consider mental health a National priority which needs to be called out.” Andrew Willcox said.

In response, the Coalition if elected will restore the number of Medicare-Subsidised psychological sessions from 10 to 20 on a permanent basis. “The Coalition understands that Australians facing complex mental health challenges deserve the full level of support that has been prescribed to them.” Andrew Willcox said.
